Ayrton Senna's enduring legacy discussed by F1 drivers

Ahead of the São Paulo Grand Prix, Formula 1 drivers Fernando Alonso and Max Verstappen discussed why Ayrton Senna maintains a unique level of devotion in Brazil compared to other champions like Nelson Piquet and Emerson Fittipaldi.

Alonso suggested that Senna possessed a natural charisma and a unique ability to connect with people that went beyond his racing results. Verstappen attributed the intense affection to Senna's roots in São Paulo and the tragic nature of his early death, noting that such a legacy is often cemented by such circumstances.

While acknowledging Senna's exceptional status, Verstappen stated that his own professional priority is winning races rather than cultivating public popularity, describing a connection with fans as a bonus rather than a primary goal.
