Ayrton Senna's Honda NSX to be auctioned in London

A 1991 Honda NSX formerly owned and used by three-time Formula 1 world champion Ayrton Senna is scheduled for auction at RM Sotheby’s London Auction on October 31. The Formula Red sports car, featuring a black roof and black leather interior, has an estimated value between £500,000 and £800,000.

Senna played a significant role in the development of the NSX. After testing early prototypes, he provided feedback to Honda engineers regarding the need for increased structural rigidity. This input led to a 50 percent increase in the car's structural stiffness and revisions to the suspension tuning.

The specific vehicle, chassis number JHMNA11500T000233, was registered in Portugal on March 22, 1991. Honda provided the car for Senna's personal use during his visits to his property in the Quinta do Lago resort. The car was notably driven by Senna to the 1991 Portuguese Grand Prix at Estoril.
