Ayumu Nakajima to star in solo film debut ‘Tabisuru Renshu’

Actor Ayumu Nakajima will make his first solo leading role in the feature film ‘Tabisuru Renshu’ (Practicing to Travel), scheduled for release in 2027. The film is an adaptation of the road novel by Yusuke Noroshiro, an author recognized with the Mishima Yukio Prize and the Tsubota Joji Prize.

Directed by newcomer Kohei Sanada, the story follows Keisuke, a novelist in a slump, and his niece Ami, a young soccer player. The two embark on a walking journey along the Tone River, traveling from Abiko in Chiba Prefecture to the home of the Kashima Antlers in Ibaraki Prefecture during the spring break before Ami enters middle school.

Furi Nanase, who gained attention for her debut in ‘Look Back’, will play the role of Ami. The production is a joint effort between Twin Engine and Yoake. Filming is expected to conclude in April 2026, with the film currently in post-production.
