Balıkesir and Ankara implement various municipal infrastructure projects

Various municipal and infrastructure developments are underway across several Turkish regions. In Balıkesir, Ahmet Akın, Mayor of Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality, has implemented new transportation services for Keremköy, adding it to the Ayvalık Marina – Bizimköy route with four daily trips to assist students and workers.

In Ayvalık's Sahilkent neighborhood, residents from 30 housing complexes are calling for the relocation of a wastewater treatment plant. They cite persistent odor issues and health concerns, offering to contribute to the costs of moving the facility at least 1-2 kilometers away from residential areas. Meanwhile, in Turanköy, local authorities are addressing complaints regarding a private camping business that allegedly encroached on public beach areas and caused sewage discharge issues.

In Ankara, the Ankara Water and Sewerage Administration (ASKİ) is executing a major infrastructure project in the Keçiören Basınevleri neighborhood to resolve a 40-year-old flooding problem by installing large-capacity rainwater and wastewater lines. Other regional updates include the installation of a new 50-cubic meter water tank in Balya's Akbaş neighborhood to improve water pressure, and reports of sewage leakage concerns in the Akçay stream in Seydişehir. In Trabzon, legal discussions have emerged regarding potential bans on swimming in Beşikdüzü to ensure safety.
