AZ-kvíz stops accepting new contestants due to high demand

Czech Television has stopped accepting new applications for the long-running quiz show ‘AZ-kvíz’ due to an overwhelming volume of interest. Moderator Aleš Zbořil reported that a massive backlog has formed, with potential contestants facing an estimated wait time of up to six years to participate.

Zbořil noted that while the show has faced challenges in the past, its longevity is a ‘small miracle.’ He estimated that the program utilizes approximately 300 to 350 contestants per year. During specific themed episodes, such as sports specials, interest has spiked significantly, with up to a thousand people applying within a single week.
