Komeo apologizes after Salmonella outbreak at Azabu-juban festival

A mass food poisoning incident occurred at the Azabu-juban Noryo Matsuri festival in Tokyo, affecting 78 people. Authorities from Minato City identified Salmonella bacteria as the cause, specifically linked to “chilled crab ramen” provided by the restaurant Kappo Komeo.

Komeo, a professional fighter and chef, issued a public apology via social media, stating he would suspend his restaurant's operations to address hygiene management and prevent recurrence. His restaurant, Kappo Komeo, has been ordered to suspend operations for seven days, from September 3 to September 9.

While Komeo expressed deep regret, public reaction on social media has been critical, particularly regarding his social media profile changes and the continued operation of his other business, the crab ramen specialty shop Kani-o. YouTuber Hikaru commented on the situation, noting that Komeo is reportedly in a state of deep reflection and distress over the incident.
