Azadpur Mandi wholesale vegetable and fruit prices show gap with retail rates

Wholesale vegetable and fruit prices in various Indian mandis, including Azadpur Mandi in Delhi, show significant differences compared to local retail markets. In Azadpur Mandi, potatoes are available at wholesale rates starting as low as ₹2 per kg, whereas local retail prices in Delhi can reach approximately ₹20 per kg.

Other wholesale rates reported include tomatoes starting at ₹10 per kg, onions from ₹20 per kg, and various other vegetables like cauliflower, eggplant, cucumber, and ridge gourd at lower price points. However, retail prices in some Delhi markets remain high, with many vegetables selling between ₹60 and ₹100 per kg.

In Sonipat, Haryana, commodities such as apples and pomegranates are trading at higher wholesale quintal rates, while specific vegetable prices vary by district and mandi.
