Azambuja enters new residential growth cycle
Azambuja is entering a new phase of residential growth, according to Mayor Silvino Lúcio. Approximately 50 homes are currently under construction, with additional private investments expected. Notable developments include a housing project near the towers that already has several purchase and sale agreements, and an urbanization project in Aveiras de Cima that is nearly sold out.
Furthermore, an Israeli group has purchased the former site of the Azambuja monthly market with plans to develop housing. This influx of residents may increase pressure on public infrastructure, leading the municipality to consider the construction of a new school to supplement existing facilities.
The local government is also working to advance its Local Housing Strategy and coordinate with the IHRU to utilize state support for municipalities.
