Azamgarh students protest over teacher shortages

Students at Smith Inter College in the Sagri tehsil area of Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, staged a protest on Tuesday demanding the appointment of teachers and protesting against alleged illegal fee collection.

Hundreds of students gathered both inside and outside the school premises, using placards to voice their grievances against the college administration. The protesters highlighted a critical shortage of teachers for essential subjects, specifically chemistry and physics, which they claim is jeopardizing their preparation for upcoming board examinations scheduled in four months.

Local representative Santosh Kumar Rai also raised allegations regarding the mismanagement of resources and the collection of unauthorized additional fees. Police intervened at the scene to manage the situation as students expressed their frustration through slogans and signs.
