AZANS chairs regional air navigation safety meeting in Tashkent

The Azerbaijan Air Navigation Services Department (AZANS) chaired the Third Annual General Meeting of the Regional Air Navigation Safety Coordination Platform for European and Asian Air Navigation Service Providers (SOCEA AGM/3) in Tashkent from September 8 to 10, 2026.

The meetings included representatives from various European and Asian air navigation service providers, alongside senior officials from ICAO, CANSO, and EUROCONTROL. Discussions focused on regional airspace developments, air traffic management, operational resilience, and strengthening coordination between providers. Additionally, during the CANSO Euro-Asia ANSPs’ CEO Summit 2026, industry leaders addressed digital transformation, new ATM technologies, and sustainability.

Azerbaijan’s role in regional aviation is expanding, with its airspace facilitating 143,770 transit flights in the first half of 2026, a 14.4% increase compared to the previous year.
