Azealia Banks Seeks Restraining Order Against Ex-Manager Jeff Kwatinetz

Rapper Azealia Banks filed a temporary restraining order against former manager Jeff Kwatinetz, alleging a decade‑long pattern of psychological and emotional abuse, coercive control, financial exploitation and surveillance. She claims Kwatinetz pressured her while intoxicated to sign a life‑insurance policy and continued to monitor her movements after their professional relationship ended. The filing also asks for protection for her mother, sister, niece and nephew and seeks a stay‑away order and disclosure of the disputed policy.

Kwatinetz’s attorney, Michael E. Weinsten, dismissed the allegations as “desperate,” noting that Kwatinetz has previously sued Banks in 2020 for defamation and other claims, which remain pending. The new restraining‑order request adds another layer to the ongoing legal battle between the two parties.
