Azerbaijan advances economic reforms and business development
Azerbaijan is implementing new regulations to simplify the state cadastral process for unregistered real estate. The new mechanism, managed through the Real Estate Registry and Cadastre Information System (DERKİS), aims to facilitate the technical inventory and registration of land and buildings to create a complete national property registry.
In the financial sector, the European Investment Bank (EIB) highlighted Azerbaijan's role in South Caucasus economic development. The EIB is collaborating with local institutions to provide 12 million euros in funding to expand long-term credit access for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).
Data from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan shows that business loans accounted for 54% of the total credit portfolio as of August 1, reaching 17.333 billion manat. This includes significant growth in lending to micro and small businesses.
Additionally, the German-Azerbaijani Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK Azerbaijan) noted that the country's economic diversification offers new opportunities for German companies, particularly in infrastructure, renewable energy, and the development of the Middle Corridor.
