Azerbaijan advances national sports development and racing preparations

Azerbaijan is advancing several sports initiatives across multiple disciplines. The national Greco-Roman wrestling team has commenced a training camp focused on improving tactics and technique. This preparation serves as a lead-up to the U-23 World Championships in Las Vegas and the senior World Championships in Astana.

In the realm of winter sports, a two-day seminar was held in collaboration with the International Ski Federation (FIS). The event focused on developing Azerbaijan’s winter sports infrastructure, improving athlete and official training, and strengthening the country’s position as an international destination for skiing and snowboarding.

Additionally, the Baku Grand Prix is set to celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2026. The Formula 1 event continues to serve as a significant platform for tourism and local business, with high international interest noted in ticket sales and visitor numbers.
