Azerbaijan Ambassador visits Tottori Sand Dunes to foster ties via VIVANT drama

The Azerbaijani Ambassador to Japan, Farid Talibov, visited Tottori Prefecture to strengthen ties inspired by the popular TBS drama ‘VIVANT’. The series features Azerbaijan as a setting, which has already led to an increase in Japanese travelers to the country.

During his visit to the Tottori Sand Dunes, Ambassador Talibov met with Tottori Governor Yuji Hirai. To promote cultural exchange and tourism, the two leaders participated in ‘camel diplomacy’ by riding camels at the dunes. Tottori Prefecture is currently utilizing the drama's popularity through various initiatives, including sand monuments and social media campaigns, to attract visitors to locations used in the production.
