Azerbaijan and Armenia agree on north-to-south border delimitation

Azerbaijan and Armenia have reached an agreement to conduct border delimitation processes starting from the north and moving toward the south. According to Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, the process is intended to begin at the junction where the borders of Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Georgia meet.

Bayramov noted that the composition of the respective border commissions remains unchanged, with Azerbaijan's Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev continuing to lead the Azerbaijani delegation. The two nations have held 13 meetings since May 2022 and have agreed to follow the principles established by the 1991 Alma-Ata Declaration.

Specific details regarding certain settlements will be addressed by the commissions as work progresses. Additionally, Bayramov indicated that he remains in regular contact with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and suggested that a meeting between the two ministers could occur in the near future.
