Azerbaijan and Belarus Sign New Trade and Cooperation Agreements
Azerbaijan and Belarus held the 16th meeting of their Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation in Minsk. The delegations, led by Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Samir Sharifov and Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Natalia Petkevich, signed a final protocol for the session, a statistical cooperation memorandum, a sports cooperation programme (2026‑2030), a healthcare cooperation roadmap (2026‑2027), and an agreement on assembling fire‑fighting equipment at the Ganja Automobile Plant.
The talks highlighted expanded collaboration in mechanical engineering, specialized municipal equipment, joint manufacturing of tractors and trucks, agricultural projects in Azerbaijan's liberated territories, and transport‑logistics, noting a 63 % rise in transit volumes between January and April 2026. The next commission meeting is scheduled for Baku in 2027.
