Azerbaijan and Slovakia deepen strategic partnership in high‑level talks
On 15 July 2026, Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova met Slovak President Peter Pellegrini in Shusha. Both leaders reaffirmed the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Slovakia and pledged to expand cooperation across political, economic and energy sectors.
The officials highlighted the role of inter‑parliamentary friendship groups, deeper collaboration between parliamentary committees and joint activity in international parliamentary organisations. President Pellegrini praised the involvement of Slovak companies in reconstruction projects in Azerbaijan’s liberated territories and underscored shared interests in energy security, green energy, transport and logistics, noting Slovakia’s position as a Central European hub.
