Azerbaijan, Belarus deepen cooperation with new lift plant in Agdam

During Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko’s 2024 state visit to Azerbaijan, officials announced a series of bilateral agreements covering agriculture, customs, tourism and support for small and medium‑size enterprises. A joint venture to produce lifts and escalators will be set up in the Agdam Industrial Park, with the equipment intended for new buildings in the liberated region. The visit also launched the design of a modern poultry complex in the village of Qızıl Kəngərli, Agdam district.

Belarus’s ambassador to Azerbaijan, Dmitri Pinevich, highlighted that collaborative projects now span Baku, Ganja, Shaki, Qəbələ, Xankəndi and other areas, and noted the visa‑free regime for Belarusian citizens travelling to 76 countries, including many European states, as a boost for tourism between the two nations.
