Azerbaijan condemns reports by The Guardian, The Independent, and BBC

The Media Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan has issued a statement condemning recent reports by The Independent, The Guardian, and the BBC Russian Service. The agency described the publications as inaccurate, biased, and intended to mislead the public regarding the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The agency alleged that the articles appear to be part of a “targeted information campaign” designed to damage the country’s international image, sovereignty, and prestige. It further claimed that the authors failed to conduct balanced investigations or seek official positions from opposing sides, suggesting the content may be politically motivated by certain lobby groups.

Azerbaijan has stated that relevant measures will be taken to investigate these cases and has called on the media organizations to adhere to professional principles and journalistic ethics to restore impartial coverage.
