Azerbaijan expands international tourism through Albania and China partnerships

Azerbaijan is actively expanding its international tourism footprint through new bilateral agreements and targeted marketing in Asian markets.

In Europe, Azerbaijan and Albania have entered discussions to strengthen tourism cooperation. Following a memorandum of understanding signed in June 2025, officials from the Azerbaijan Tourism Board and the Albanian National Tourism Agency are planning joint initiatives for 2027. The collaboration aims to improve transport links, increase two-way tourist flows, and promote both nations' natural and cultural heritage through shared expertise and sustainable tourism practices.

Simultaneously, Azerbaijan is targeting growth in the Chinese market by promoting winter tourism. Following a 28% increase in Chinese visitor arrivals in September 2026, the Azerbaijan Tourism Board and Shahdag Tourism Centre CJSC held presentations for leading Beijing-based travel agencies. These efforts focus on developing specialized holiday packages that highlight Azerbaijan’s mountain tourism and winter attractions to diversify the country’s tourism products.
