Azerbaijan infrastructure and economic development updates

Azerbaijan is advancing several key infrastructure and economic initiatives. In Baku, the '20 Sentyabr' metro station is scheduled for full operation by the first half of next year following the completion of construction and specialized architectural work. Additionally, renovation work at the 'Həzi Aslanov' metro station is nearing completion, with focus on structural reinforcement and modernizing communication systems.

In the transport sector, the European Union has proposed the construction of a direct passenger railway line to the Alat Free Economic Zone to improve accessibility for investors and workers. Meanwhile, tunneling work has commenced between the '28 May' and 'Nizami' stations to enhance the metro network.

Regarding finance, experts suggest Azerbaijan may issue its first 'green sukuk' next year to align with sustainable development priorities. In education, Minister of Science and Education Emin Əmrullayev noted that recent PISA results show an improvement in educational outcomes for 15-year-old girls, highlighting the impact of strategic investments in female education.
