Azerbaijan launches joint military drills with Türkiye and Uzbekistan

Azerbaijan has commenced the ‘Power of Unity – 2026’ joint military exercise, involving armed forces from Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Uzbekistan. The opening ceremony took place at the Gizilgaya Training Center in the Khojavend district. The drills aim to strengthen military cooperation, improve practical skills, and enhance coordination for joint tasks among the participating nations.

Separately, the Azerbaijan Army held nationwide commemorative events to mark State Sovereignty Day on September 20. These ceremonies, held across various military units and educational institutions, included tributes to National Leader Heydar Aliyev and fallen martyrs. The Ministry of Defense noted that the day, established by presidential order in 2024, symbolizes the restoration of constitutional order and national independence.
