Azerbaijan launches official National Standard Time online platform

The Azerbaijan Metrology Institute (AzMI), under the State Service for Anti-Monopoly and Consumer Market Control, has launched an official online platform to display Azerbaijan's National Standard Time (UTC (AZ)) in real time.

This platform provides a precise and traceable time source approved by the International Bureau of Weights and Measures (BIPM). It is intended for use by various sectors, including telecommunications, audiovisual broadcasting, banking and finance, transport and energy infrastructure, information security, and scientific research institutes.

Azerbaijan currently maintains a laboratory that contributes to Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). Data regarding the time difference between cesium atomic clocks in the AzMI Time, Frequency, and Microwave Measurements Laboratory and satellite systems is regularly transmitted to the BIPM to assist in the formation of UTC.
