Azerbaijan reports UnionPay card activity, certifies energy auditors and schedules power outages
The Central Bank of Azerbaijan released statistics showing that, by the end of May, resident financial institutions processed 2,300 UnionPay card transactions worth more than 250,000 manats. Compared with the same period last year, the number of operations rose by about 11.5 times while the total volume fell sharply.
In late June, three professionals received specialist certificates for conducting energy audits, following the requirements of Azerbaijan’s Energy Efficiency Law. The awardees were representatives of Prime Energy Consulting and MSN Energy Services, recognized for their role in analysing and reducing energy consumption in enterprises and buildings.
On July 9, Azerbaijani electricity providers announced planned maintenance that will cause temporary power interruptions in several Baku neighborhoods. Outages are slated for specific streets in Yasamal, Nizami, Keşlə, Masazır and Badamdar districts between 10:00 and 16:00, after which upgraded transformer stations are expected to improve supply quality.
