Azerbaijan orders 14 HÜRKUŞ-II aircraft from Turkish Aerospace
Azerbaijan has signed a contract to purchase 14 HÜRKUŞ-II turboprop trainer aircraft from Turkish Aerospace. Announced during the ADEX 2026 defense exhibition in Baku, Azerbaijan becomes the first international customer for this indigenous Turkish training aircraft. Deliveries to Azerbaijan are expected to begin before the end of 2026.
Simultaneously, the HÜRKUŞ-II has officially entered the inventory of the Turkish Air Force. The first two aircraft were delivered to the Turkish Air Force on September 28, 2026, at TUSAŞ facilities in Ankara. This deployment is part of a larger program aiming to complete a total of 55 aircraft by the end of 2028.
The HÜRKUŞ-II is designed to support basic and advanced initial training processes, helping pilot candidates transition to jet training while reducing costs. The platform is part of a broader Turkish aviation ecosystem intended to link pilot training from the HÜRKUŞ through the HÜRJET and eventually to the KAAN fighter programs.
