Azerbaijan President signs decrees on student scholarships and digital communications

President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree regarding the awarding of Presidential scholarships to students admitted to higher education institutions in Azerbaijan for the 2026-2027 academic year. Among the 102 students selected for this honor, 35 are from the Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS).

Additionally, the President signed a decree establishing the ‘Digital Communications’ information system. This system is designed to improve the efficiency, transparency, and accessibility of regulation and oversight within the information-communication technologies, telecommunications, and postal sectors. The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport will serve as the owner of the system, while the Information and Communication Technologies Agency, under the Ministry, will act as the operator. The system is intended to be hosted within the ‘Government Cloud’ (G-cloud) framework.
