Azerbaijan promotes official and marks security service holiday

Azerbaijan has designated September 26 as the professional holiday for employees of the State Service of Special Communication and Information Security, following a decree by President Ilham Aliyev.

In conjunction with these developments, Allahveran Ismayilov, the Deputy Head of the State Service of Special Communication and Information Security, has been promoted to the rank of lieutenant general by presidential decree. Ismayilov, a graduate of the Azerbaijan Technical University and former head of the Heydar Aliyev Academy of the State Security Service, has a career focused on information security, state communications, and cybersecurity. He was previously awarded the Order of Service to the Motherland in 2024.

The State Service of Special Communication and Information Security is responsible for ensuring the security and operation of specialized information and communication systems for state bodies, managing inter-agency electronic document circulation, and monitoring the cybersecurity of state information resources.
