Azerbaijan sees falling precious‑metal prices and surge in trade with China

Gold prices in Azerbaijan fell 1.5% week‑over‑week to 117.674 manat per troy ounce, while silver dropped 3.6% to 4.6517 manat. Platinum fell 2.7% to 89.8875 manat and palladium declined 5.1% to 119.9095 manat.

In the January‑April period, trade between Azerbaijan and China reached $1.514 billion, a 6.1% increase over the same period in 2025. Azerbaijani exports to China totalled $40.034 billion, roughly 1.6 times the previous year, while imports from China were $1.474 billion, up 5.1%. Overall foreign trade hit $17.403 billion, generating a surplus of $6.354 billion. The report notes expanding cooperation beyond trade, including finance, energy, logistics and the development of the Middle Corridor rail and maritime links.
