Azerbaijan to launch Baku-Brussels flights in 2027
Azerbaijan is set to expand its tourism connectivity with Europe through a new air route between Baku and Brussels. Azerbaijan Airlines plans to operate four weekly flights on this route starting May 8, 2027.
Florian Sengstschmid, CEO of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board, stated that Europe remains a priority market for the country. He emphasized that improving accessibility is crucial for attracting visitors to explore beyond the capital, including UNESCO World Heritage sites, the Silk Road, and the Greater Caucasus mountains.
During the Euronews Travel & Tourism Summit 2026, Sengstschmid highlighted Baku's development into a regional hub. He noted that Heydar Aliyev International Airport has received a five-star regional rating from Skytrax, and Azerbaijan Airlines was recently named the best regional airline in Central Asia by the same organization.
