Azerbaijan marks Fuzuli liberation anniversary and Paralympic milestones

Azerbaijan marks several significant milestones. October 17 is observed as Fuzuli City Day, commemorating the liberation of the city and surrounding villages from Armenian occupation six years ago during the 2020 war. The day honors the military personnel involved through the “For the Liberation of Fuzuli” medal and celebrates the ongoing resettlement efforts in the region.

In sports, President Ilham Aliyev congratulated the National Paralympic Committee on its 30th anniversary. He highlighted the state's commitment to supporting athletes with disabilities and praised the achievements of Azerbaijani paralympians in international competitions.
