Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan conduct joint military drills in Karabakh

Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan have concluded the ‘Power of Unity-2026’ joint military exercise. The drills, which involved more than 3,500 troops, were held across several locations, including the Hojavend district in the Karabakh region, Nakhchivan, and the Caspian Sea.

The exercise focused on modern, multi-domain warfare scenarios. Key training elements included drone swarm defense, electronic warfare, cyberattacks, and countering disinformation campaigns. Additionally, troops practiced maritime operations, such as vessel seizure and rescue, as well as land-based maneuvers like clearing minefields and breaching defensive positions.

Equipment used during the drills included over 130 unmanned aerial vehicles, more than 70 armored vehicles, 90 artillery systems, and over 20 aircraft. Turkish Defence Minister Yaşar Güler noted the success of the exercise in both planning and execution, emphasizing the importance of military readiness while maintaining a commitment to peace. Iran participated in the maneuvers as an observer.
