Azerbaijan weather forecast predicts near-normal September temperatures
The National Hydrometeorological Service of Azerbaijan has released the weather forecast for September, characterizing the month as a transitional period between summer and autumn. Average monthly temperatures are expected to remain close to climate norms, though some regions may experience slightly higher temperatures.
In Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, the average temperature is projected to be between 21-23°C, which is approximately 1°C above the norm. Daytime temperatures are expected to range from 26-31°C, with some days in the first half of the month reaching 33-35°C. Monthly precipitation is expected to be near the norm of 12-23 mm.
In the Nakhchivan region, including Culfa, Ordubad, Sadarak, Shahbuz, and Sharur, temperatures are forecasted to be 22-25°C, about 1-2°C above normal. Daytime highs may reach 34-39°C during the first half of the month. In areas such as Khankendi, Shusha, Goranboy, and Aghdam, temperatures are expected to align closely with climate norms, ranging from 16-19°C.
Short-term forecasts for the beginning of the month indicate intermittent heavy rain and lightning in mountainous and foothill regions.
