Azerbaijani deputies call for improved primary education support

Azerbaijani deputies are calling for enhanced support for students struggling in primary school to ensure long-term educational success. The discussions emphasize that improvements in higher education are impossible without first addressing the quality of primary schooling.

Deputy Ceyhun Mammadov highlighted the critical role of teachers, advocating for highly qualified, ethical, and knowledgeable educators who treat students with care. He also stressed the need for high-quality textbooks and a school environment conducive to child development and upbringing. Additionally, Mammadov noted that strengthening the family institution is essential for supporting a child's education.

Deputy Samir Valiyev emphasized the necessity of increasing teacher professionalism through continuous training in modern teaching methods, digital technologies, and student-centered approaches. He argued that the curriculum should shift focus from rote memorization toward developing critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, and independent learning skills to accommodate different student learning paces.
