Azerbaijani judokas assigned opponents for Lausanne Grand Prix

The draw ceremony for the Judo Grand Prix in Lausanne, Switzerland, has determined the initial opponents for Azerbaijani athletes. The tournament, held from August 28 to 30, serves as a qualifying event for the Los Angeles 2028 Summer Olympic Games.

Azerbaijan will be represented by 14 judokas across nine weight categories, consisting of 10 men and 4 women. The competition features 513 athletes from 77 different countries.

Key matchups for the Azerbaijani team include:

Women's categories: Gültac Məmmədəliyeva and Leyla Əliyeva in the 52 kg category, Südabə Ağayeva in the 70 kg category, and Madina Kaisinova in the +78 kg category.
