Azerbaijani judokas' opponents set for Abu Dhabi Grand Slam

The draw for the judo Grand Slam tournament in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, has been completed. The competition, which serves as a qualifying event for the Los Angeles 2028 Summer Olympics, will feature 374 athletes from 59 countries.

Azerbaijan will be represented by 12 judokas (8 men and 4 women) competing across nine weight categories. Notable matchups include Hidayət Heydərov, who will face the winner of the match between Baysanqur Baqayev (Serbia) and either Lusian Bors Dumitrescu (Romania) or another competitor. Other Azerbaijani athletes include Könül Əliyeva, Gültac Məmmədəliyeva, Südabə Ağayeva, Madina Kaisinova, Balabəy Ağayev, Rəşad Yelkiyev, Ruslan Paşayev, Kamran Süleymanov, Elcan Hacıyev, and Camal Qamzatxanov.

The tournament is scheduled to take place from October 29 to 31.
