Azerbaijan's Göygöl Hosts 5th National Summer Festival

The opening ceremony of the 5th National Summer (Yaylaq) Festival was held at the “Xan Yurdu” ethno‑village in the Yeni Zod area of Göygöl district, Azerbaijan. A minute of silence honored former leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who defended the country’s territorial integrity. Local executive head Vüqar Novruzov highlighted President Ilham Aliyev’s policies to protect national identity, develop regional economies and boost tourism, while Vice‑President Mehriban Aliyeva’s cultural initiatives were also praised.

Youth and Sports Minister Farid Ghayibov called the festival a major holiday that showcases Azerbaijan’s traditions to younger generations. Project leader Muzadil Həsənov noted that the event has grown into an international platform attracting foreign tourists. The ceremony concluded with a concert program, marking the festival’s continued role in preserving cultural heritage and promoting tourism.
