AzerGold begins blasting operations at Soyudlu gold deposit

AzerGold CJSC has commenced the next phase of development at the Soyudlu (Zod) gold deposit, identified as the largest in the Caucasus. The state-owned company successfully conducted its first drilling and blasting operation as part of preparations for active mine exploitation.

Since August 2025, the company has completed extensive geological studies, topographic planning, and approximately 18,000 metres of drilling. Based on JORC standards, the recoverable reserves at the site are estimated at 1.03 million ounces of gold. This operation marks a transition toward bringing the deposit's resources into economic circulation.

To manage geotechnical instability and geological risks, AzerGold has implemented the GroundProbe SSR-OMNI radar slope stability monitoring system. This technology provides continuous monitoring and early warnings to prevent landslides, ensuring the safety of personnel and heavy equipment.
