Azim Premji Foundation launches scholarship for 20,000 girls in Delhi

The Azim Premji Foundation has launched the Azim Premji Scholarship for the National Capital Territory of Delhi (NCT), aiming to support up to 20,000 girls in their pursuit of higher education this academic year.

Selected students will receive an annual scholarship of INR 30,000, covering college fees and other educational expenses from their first year of college until they complete an undergraduate degree or diploma. Depending on the course duration, which ranges from two to five years, a recipient may receive up to INR 1.5 lakh.

To be eligible, applicants must have completed Class 10 and Class 12 in a government school within one of 21 designated states or union territories, including Delhi, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Karnataka, and Uttar Pradesh, among others. Students must also be admitted to the first year of a recognized undergraduate degree or diploma course anywhere in India. The application process is conducted entirely online through the foundation’s official website.

The foundation has set a long-term goal of supporting up to 500,000 girls across India annually. Since the program's inception in 2024, over 190,000 girls have already received support.
