Aziz Aga Bridge in Grevena captured under the Milky Way

Photographer Vasilis Ververidis has captured striking images of the Milky Way positioned above the historic Aziz Aga Bridge in Grevena, Greece. The bridge, located over the Venetikos River near Trikomo, is the largest stone bridge in Western Macedonia.

The structure measures 75 meters in length, 3 meters in width, and 15 meters in height. It features three arches, with the central elliptical arch spanning approximately 30 meters.

Historical accounts note the bridge's difficult construction. The central arch reportedly collapsed twice during the removal of wooden molds. Legend states that the patron, Aziz Aga, threatened the master builder with severe consequences if a third collapse occurred. The third attempt was successful, resulting in the completed structure that stands today.
