Aziz Benja returns to Marrakech with ‘Secrets des jardins’ exhibition

Painter Aziz Benja has returned to the Marrakech art scene with a solo exhibition titled ‘Secrets des jardins’. Held at the JAAL Riad Resort from September 17 to October 17, 2026, in collaboration with Galerie Villa Houda, the exhibition focuses on the garden as a central motif for artistic exploration.

Benja’s work utilizes light, water, vegetation, and intense color to transition from identifiable reality toward abstraction and dreamlike states. The artist noted a specific connection to Marrakech due to the city’s saturated chromatic contrasts and highlighted the Jardin Majorelle as an important influence. Benja expressed a desire to contribute to the growing cultural and professional artistic infrastructure currently emerging in the region.
