Fenerbahçe President Aziz Yıldırım and Galatasaray File Criminal Complaints Over Social Media Harassment

Fenerbahçe president Aziz Yıldırım lodged a criminal complaint with the Bakırköy Cumhuriyet Başsavcılığı, alleging that anonymous social‑media accounts have posted hateful, threatening and privacy‑infringing content about him and his 13‑year‑old daughter Yaz. The prosecutor ordered the Istanbul İl Emniyet Müdürlüğü’s Cybercrime Unit to identify the accounts and investigate the posts.

In a parallel move, Galatasaray Spor Kulübü announced that it has also filed a criminal complaint with the Istanbul Cumhuriyet Başsavcılığı against eight specific social‑media users, naming accounts such as @Nuribey45 and @Ahmetercanlar. The club says the posts contain hate speech, defamation and threats aimed at the club, its officials, players and supporters. Both clubs are pursuing legal action to protect their reputations and the privacy of their members.

The investigations are ongoing, with Turkish authorities tasked with tracing the identities behind the alleged defamatory accounts.
