Azores and Parques de Sintra recognized by World Travel Awards

The Azores archipelago has been named Europe’s Leading Adventure Destination 2026 by the World Travel Awards. This recognition highlights the region's focus on sustainable tourism and its natural resources, aligning with the PEMTA 2030 strategic marketing plan which prioritizes nature-based experiences.

Additionally, Parques de Sintra has been nominated for the World’s Leading Conservation Company award at the 2026 World Travel Awards. This marks the 14th consecutive year the organization has been a nominee, recognizing its management of cultural and natural heritage sites, including the Pena National Palaces, Sintra, Queluz, Monserrate Palace, Capuchos Convent, and the Castle of the Moors.
