Azores fuel prices fall in August as gasoline and diesel costs are cut
In August, fuel prices in the Azores decreased for the third consecutive month. Unleaded 95‑octane gasoline is set at €1.816 per litre, a reduction of €0.016 per litre from July, while road diesel will cost €1.722 per litre, €0.031 per litre cheaper.
Colored diesel for agriculture is now €1.422 per litre and for fishing €1.232 per litre, both also down €0.031 per litre. The price cuts follow earlier tax adjustments by the Regional Government of the Azores, which lowered the Special Consumption Tax (ISP) on gasoline and diesel in April and May and increased the discount in June. The reductions come after previous price hikes of 32.3 cents per litre for gasoline and 53 cents per litre for diesel between February and May, amid heightened geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
