Azores to host UEFA A football coaching course in 2027

The Azores will host a UEFA A Level III football coaching course in 2027, according to the Azores branch of the National Association of Football Coaches (ANTF). The decision follows a meeting between the presidents of the football associations of Angra do Heroísmo and Ponta Delgada and ANTF leadership.

The initiative aims to decentralize training and provide more affordable access to high-level certification for local coaches. To support this, a “candidate pool” will be established for coaches from the three Azorean associations to meet eligibility requirements. Discussions also addressed improving access to UEFA A training for futsal coaches in the archipelago to account for the region's geographic dispersion.
