Azores to see return of direct flights from Warsaw in 2027
Direct charter flights from Warsaw to the Azores will resume in the summer of 2027 after a 14-year hiatus. The tour operator Itaka has announced that the new service will connect Warsaw Chopin Airport to the island of Terceira.
Operated by Smartwings, the flights are scheduled to begin on June 15, 2027, and will run once a week until September 28. The service offers various travel packages, including 7- and 14-night stays at four- and five-star hotels, as well as sightseeing programs covering the islands of Terceira, Faial, São Jorge, and Pico.
This marks a return to direct connectivity between Poland and the Portuguese archipelago, though the destination has shifted from the previously served São Miguel to Terceira. The resumption follows a period of reduced accessibility after Ryanair withdrew its operations from Ponta Delgada in early 2026.
