Azruddin Mohamed returns to court for extradition proceedings
Guyana opposition leader Azruddin Mohamed and his father, Nazar Mohamed, have returned to court to resume extradition proceedings. The hearings were previously adjourned due to a scheduling conflict with a High Court contempt case involving social media personality Mikhail Rodrigues.
In a separate development, Azruddin Mohamed confirmed that the Guyana Police Force has returned his personal electronic devices and documents. However, law enforcement continues to hold a motor vehicle and a maritime vessel seized during recent operations. Mohamed noted that the vessel has been used for humanitarian and political activities in riverine communities for approximately 13 years and criticized the lack of legal justification for its continued detention.
