Azrul Ananda reflects on the role of junior colleges in higher education

Azrul Ananda reflects on the role of junior colleges as educational safety nets for individuals who face financial difficulties or did not graduate from high school. He shares his personal experience attending Sacramento City College from 1995 to 1997.

Ananda notes that actress Jessica Chastain also attended the same institution during that period after not graduating from high school. He highlights her journey from studying theater at the junior college to receiving a scholarship at Juilliard and eventually winning an Oscar.

Following his time at Sacramento City College, Ananda discusses his aspirations to attend either the University of California, Berkeley, or the University of Kansas.
