Azubuike Egwuekwe outlines revival plan for Warri Wolves ahead of 2026/27 NPFL season

Former Super Eagles defender Azubuike Egwuekwe has been appointed coordinator of Warri Wolves by Delta State Sports Commission Chairman Onoriode Joshua Oborevwori. He says the club will rebuild its squad for the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League season, focusing on discipline, character and commitment.

Egwuekwe plans to recruit young, talented players and support head coach Hassan Abd’Allah. Former Wolves players Austin Johnny (assistant coach) and Abayomi Olorunda (goalkeeper coach) are already on the technical staff. Warri Wolves finished 13th with 49 points in the 2025/26 season. Drawing on his own NPFL and overseas experience, including a stint in Finland, Egwuekwe expects the pre‑season camp to launch the club’s resurgence.
