Azul Conecta awarded Santa Catarina regional flight contract

Azul Conecta, a subsidiary of Azul Linhas Aéreas, was the sole bidder and won the electronic competition (Concorrência Eletrônica nº 0373/2026) to operate regional air services under Santa Catarina’s VOA + SC program. The state will provide a subsidy of R$ 22.56 million and the service order is expected to be signed in the first half of August.

The 12‑month contract covers routes linking Florianópolis with cities such as São Miguel do Oeste, Joaçaba, Caçador and Blumenau, with an initial commitment of 160 flight hours per month (1,920 hours per year). Operations are planned to begin in November, and fares are expected to be lower than market prices because the subsidy offsets part of the hourly flight cost. State secretary of Ports, Airports and Railways Ivan Amaral said operational details will be finalised in the coming weeks, with the program aiming to serve up to ten municipalities in the state.
