Azul flight forced to return to Manaus due to smoke in Itaituba

An Azul airline flight traveling from Manaus to Itaituba, in southwest Pará, was forced to return to the Amazonian capital on Tuesday after intense smoke prevented a safe landing. The aircraft reportedly circled the municipality for over 40 minutes due to compromised visibility caused by heavy smoke.

The incident is part of a broader trend in the Northern region, where smoke from forest fires has been affecting air quality and daily routines. In Amazonas, firefighting teams are utilizing aircraft to combat active blazes and prevent new outbreaks. Azul has scheduled a replacement flight to Itaituba for Wednesday.
